How can I help?

Announcement: I have now moved to Social & Local CIC as Managing Director (incoming as of May 2024) to lead the team delivering communications, learning and insight projects for charities, not-for-profits, public bodies and all those whose work offers social value and local impact.

However… from my new role at Social and Local I can still collaborate directly with you for all your comms and content needs, and I continue to take on freelance writing projects. So please still get in touch and we can discuss how to work together: holly@socialandlocal.co.uk

What do I do?

I use my 20 years of experience in house and in agency to develop communications, brand and campaign strategies for charities and public bodies, as well as writing and producing learning and information content to engage targeted audience. Get in touch for:

  • Writing & Editing: I can deliver your writing or editing needs, with experience across school resources, guidebooks, historical interpretation, marketing products, reports, web content, blogs, and more. I also co-host and undertake interviews on podcasts, as well as offering guest speaking and lecturing if approached. Take a look here for examples of my written work.

  • Content and Campaign Producing: I can lead your end-to-end campaign or content production project, from idea generation and development to supplier commissioning and management, through the full process to publication or campaign launch. My podcast, Reaching More Readers for the Alliance of Independent Authors can be found here.

  • Communications and Engagement Strategy: I can undertake research, insight and audits to set the direction for your plans, work with your teams to develop the approach, and produce a comprehensive strategy to hit your goals.

About me

I’m based just outside London with my family. I love campaigns that make me look twice, anyone who can tell a great story, and true-crime docs.

I believe clarity is critical for great communications. I’ve trained with the Plain English Campaign, completed a diploma in copywriting and hold a Masters degree in Creative and Critical Writing.

So, what’s it like to work with me? Well, these are my values:

  • Clarity: Making complex ideas clear.

  • Creativity: Bringing a fresh approach to any subject.

  • Commitment: Doing what I say.
